Other Opportunities/////

Christmas Lights

Helping a neighbor put up Christmas lights.

Clothing

Find out if there’s a clothing or food drive at your child’s school, and participate together as a family.

Help The Homeless

Keep small, non-perishable food snacks in your car, and when you see a homeless person at the intersection during a red light, give them a small amount. If your children are in the car with you, explain why you’re giving the food to him or her.

A Big Tip

Set aside funds for a uniquely large tip for a waiter or waitress at a restaurant. When you get great service from someone with a great work ethic and a cheerful attitude, nonchalantly leave them a big tip. It will completely make their day, and your kids can experience giving first-hand.

Nursing Home Visit

Visit with people at your local nursing home or assisted living facility.

Serve Pregnant Mothers

Contact your local Pregnancy Crisis Center to serve pregnant mothers in need.

Invite A Family In Need

Invite a family or someone who is not able to spend the holidays with their own family over to your house for Christmas dinner.

Offer Dog-Sitting

Offer to dog-sit for friends who are traveling during the holidays so they do not have to pay expensive kennel costs.

Help The Elderly

Offer to run errands to drive an elderly or sick neighbor to doctor appointments.

Pay A Strangers Tab

Next time you’re at a drive-thru, tell the cashier that you want to pay for the person’s tab behind you as well as a gift…even though you don’t know him!

Christmas Cards

Have your children decorate cards, ornaments, or cookies to send to your local fire station.

Family Caroling

Take your family caroling to your local hospital, retirement community, or nursing home.
